Non-cylindrical bottle (Nutella Bottle)

First I had to make the bottom profile of the bottle and sketch another profile on a plane approximately 5mm above it to give it its angle at the bottom.

The next step was to created the middle shape of the bottle by creating another plane approximately 45mm above the previous one and making the same sketch as below

The next step was to create the next profile above the previous one that would be used for screwing the lid on

The last step for creating the profiles was to construct the last profile to make the height of the top [part for screwing the lid on which was approximately 13mm

The next step was to sketch some at different ends of each profiles to act as guide curves when lofting the profiles. This was done by creating planes that were coincident with each end point of the lines making them as references for the angle of each plane. The guide curves are highlighted.

The next step was to begin the loft between each profile by selecting the bottom profile first and ten the one above it.

 The same process is repeated all the way up to the top of the bottle to finally make the solid object of it. Through this whole process I learn how to create lofts and was introduced to using the helix/spiral option in sketch mode and creating a profile around the helix using a sweep

The next step was to make the bottle look empty by using the Shell command to remove the material inside the bottle as shown in the section view.

 The final step was to make the helix profile that would be used to screw the lid onto the bottle. The profile for the screw was crated and then was sweep around the top of the bottle

Through this process I learn how to do helix's and create a profile to sweep around a circular object.

The next part of making the Nutella bottle was constructing the lid

The first step was to create the profile for lid and insert a centre line for the middle of the lid and revolve the profile around the centre line.

 

 The next step was create the profile for the small ridges around the bottle and extrude them off the surface of the lid.

The next step was to create a circular pattern of approximately 50 of the profile around the lid.

The next step was to repeat the same helix profile shape on the bottom of the lid and sweep around the inside of the lid to screw onto the bottle

The final step on make the lid was to create the text on top of the lid that says Nutella. The text command was was to type the word on top of the lid and was extruded approximately 0.5 mm off the surface of the lid. A circular pattern was then used to create another two sketches of the text around the lid.

Finally the bottle and lid are assembled togthether
